I said the other day in someone's diary that I've never agreed with a single thing that Bush has ever done as President.
I may have to qualify that statement, if this proposal is everything it appears to be:
President Bush will propose a dramatic increase to $250,000 in government payments to families of U.S. troops killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and in future combat zones.
This will be a retroactive death benefit, meaning it will be awarded to those who lost a loved one as far back as October.
Clearly I am missing something, because there is no way the Bush Administration would do something just to be kind to troops and their families. What are the ulterior motives?
